We’re following the Chair7/Carhenge Redevelopment Project. This is the next big piece of the Telluride development, affordable housing and mass transit puzzle.
From the Town of Telluride:
The Town of Telluride and Telluride Ski Resort have been diligently working on the redevelopment plan for the base of Chair 7 and Carhenge Parking Lot. This Tuesday, July 9, both entities, with their consultants from Design Workshop and CCY Architects, presented the first draft renderings of the possible redevelopment plan for public review. As part of the public meeting, consultants provided conceptual site and parking plans, character images showing potential options for architectural design, public amenities to include active and passive play areas and park space, and provided the public a robust public comment period for questions and comments.
During public comment, a number of meaningful discussions were held related to parking and traffic, view corridors from existing adjacent properties, and pedestrian/bike movements within the Southwest Area. The Town and Telski will compile all of the feedback received and explore opportunities to incorporate these ideas within a future development plan for the site.
